Intercompany Transfers and the Movement of Value

The presentation explores how intercompany transfers within closely controlled corporate groups can obscure the true movement of value among entities. We discuss how fraud examiners can assess these patterns using financial-statement information when detailed ledgers or transaction level data are unavailable. Drawing from forensic accounting experience, the session outlines practical indicators related to direction of value, authorization and oversight, stated purpose versus transactional behavior, and timing around periods of financial stress.
