Benchmarking the Whistle-blower Program at The City of Calgary

Anand Ganesh and Al Bleau will present on The City of Calgary’s Whistle-blower Program (WBP), operated under the oversight of the City Auditor. Their session will explore the value of benchmarking in supporting program effectiveness, transparency, and continuous improvement. The presentation also will highlight key metrics from the program’s 2024 Internal Benchmarking Report and outline the path toward collaboration with other Canadian municipalities.

Anand Ganesh

Anand is a Whistleblower Program Investigator for the City of Calgary. Anand is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Forensic Accountant with over 10 years of experience in corporate investigations, including 5 years focused on employee reporting programs in Canada and abroad. He joined The City of Calgary in 2022.

Al Bleau

Al is the Manager of the Whistleblower Program for the City of Calgary. Al is a Certified Forensic Investigator and Associate Member of the ACFE with over 35 years of experience in corporate investigations, including more than 20 years working with employee reporting programs in the private and public sectors. He has been with The City of Calgary since 2014.
