Specializing in cryptocurrency investigations, the team plays a critical role in tracing illicit transactions, identifying cybercriminal networks, and dismantling fraudulent operations that exploit blockchain technology.
Beyond investigations and in partnership with Chainalysis, the team is committed to training and equipping law enforcement agencies across the country with the skills and tools needed to navigate the complexities of blockchain tracing. Constable Maja Vidak
Cst. Maja Vidak is a 12-year member of the Calgary Police Service and one of the founding members of the Blockchain Investigations Team. With extensive experience in cybercrime investigations, she has been instrumental in advancing blockchain tracing capabilities within law enforcement.
As one of only two sworn members in Canada certified as a Chainalysis Instructor, Cst. Maja Vidak plays a key role in training law enforcement agencies across the country, equipping officers with the knowledge and tools needed to investigate cryptocurrency-related crimes. Her expertise in blockchain analytics, financial crime investigations, and digital forensics has made her a leader in the fight against cyber-enabled financial fraud.
Committed to collaboration and innovation, Cst. Maja Vidak continues to build partnerships between law enforcement, industry leaders, and global agencies to strengthen investigative efforts in the evolving digital landscape.
Constable Mike Green
Cst. Mike Green is an 18-year member of the Calgary Police Service and is currently assigned to the Cybercrimes & Blockchain Investigations Team. His expertise lies at the intersection of law enforcement, financial crime, and emerging technologies, making him a key asset in the fight against blockchain-related criminal activity.
With an extensive educational background in Governance, Law & Management, Criminal Justice, and Forensic Accounting, Cst. Mike Green brings a multidisciplinary approach to complex financial investigations. As a Certified Financial Crime Specialist (ACFCS), he is adept at uncovering illicit financial networks and tracing cryptocurrency transactions linked to cyber-enabled crimes.
Dedicated to continuous professional development, he is currently working toward accreditation with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) as a Certified Fraud Examiner, further strengthening his ability to investigate and combat financial fraud in the digital age.
